Our story
An aubade is a song for the moment night gives way.
Leah Okafor started Aubade in 2019, after nine years in hospital trauma services. She had watched too many people handed a diagnosis and a waiting list, and too few offered what actually helps: a steady person, a quiet room and enough time.
We have stayed small on purpose. Every clinician here is licensed, supervised and paid properly, which means they have the room to think about you between sessions. We would rather do this well for a few hundred people than quickly for thousands.

What we promise
Six promises
we keep with every client.

You set the pace.
Nothing is opened before you are ready, and nothing is rushed because a programme says so.
No diagnosis required.
You do not need a label to deserve help. Wanting things to feel different is enough.
One person, not a rota.
You see the same clinician every time, and they remember what you told them.
Plain language.
We explain what we are doing and why, without jargon and without mystique.
Fit comes first.
If the match is not right you can change clinician at any time, no explanation needed.

An ending in sight.
We review every eight sessions, so that therapy is a chapter of your life and not the whole book.
